A Little Bit of Party and Bullshit in Melbourne

Just had a pretty epic weekend with a long-lost Aussie friend named Mista Morrie down in Melbourne. To say the least this cappuccino is not doing its thang to prepare me for the next three hours of class. I'll lay down the basics of the weekend. Thursday night I flew out of Sydney to me Ads. We decided to see a small band called Saskwatch at Cherry Bar. The venue was dark, intimate and cozy. The nine person band included three brassy funk players and a sex-ed up lead singer who seduced the crowds with her fem voice and silky moves. The crowd was definitely getting hot and sweaty, and we were moshing out between beers. We met up with Adam's friend Timmy and his lady from San Diego, and together continued into the night where things got a little blurry. After Cherry Bar it was off to Revolver, where the minimal disco music reminded me a little of my late nights in LaLa land.

The next morning, we were feeling a little rough and decided to try out Auction Room for breakfast and a much needed coffee. It is an epic little spot and they had real ice coffee (American style, black on the rocks). I had the freshest bowl of granola and fruit. Next was the Victoria Markets which had virtually everything- delis, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, bakeries, candy--you name it. We floated around until we were feeling too tired to move and made our way to Adam's house on the Mornington Peninsula. I instantly fell in love with the countryside of Melbourne and was surprised by how beautiful it was! We went to the hot springs to recover and followed that by sneaking into the Quarantines where the boys went for a surf. Pretty fucking epic wave is all I can say. Yeeeeeeeee. The night ended with drinks at a bar which then escalated to a punk rock party at another club followed by a house party that was barely remembered. Watched the sunrise with Biggie in the background and thats THAT (side note: Australians LOVE NotoriousA).

The BEST granola ever.

The next day we checked out the Stonier Winery where Adam works at. We tasted some wine and then threw down some beers overlooking the vineyard (ironic?). Then we checked out one of his friend's 21st birthday party...however shawty lo was being shawty grandma at that point of the weekend.  Overall it was an epic trip with epic people!
